There are a host of bed and breakfast inns in Uruguay. You need first hand information on their descriptions, rates, pictures offers and other logistical details to be able to make an informed choice that will also satisfy your needs. A range of small hotels, hostels to the big hotels are available. Bed and Breakfast rentals are within reach.
Online and advance booking is mostly recommended for foreign travelers. Here is an index.

That site is downright stupid.
There are not many B&B's listed in Uruguay on it. Just 3 in Punta del Este. No information is given about them and one uses the word "hotel" in its name!
In Spanish a Bed and Breakfast is called an Posada and they seem to be extremely few and far between in Uruguay.
