| Do you have to be a Buddhist?Next month I am planning a trip to Thaland. I will stay there a couple of weeks and definitely am not interested in the run of the mill tourist tours and trips to the bazaars and malls, etc.I am not a "card carrying" Buddhist, but have hear wonderful stories about staying at the monateries, called "wats", there. Especially the "forest monasteries" which are in beautiful settings. They are, of course, extremely peaceful (most people are not interested in peace), and you get meditation instruction which can be helpful after you go back. I found some comments about these places, but would also like some suggestions from any who have actually been there. God bless all! Cheers! |
