| What are some really good medical schools/colleges in the Northeast? I'm going to be a freshman in high school this year, but I already know what I want to be when I'm older. I'm interested in becoming a surgeon who works in the ER (yes, I know it takes about 12 years and I have to intern and all that), but I'm at a loss for what schools are in my area. I am a straight A and B student who's in all advanced placement classes. My school offers a program where once a student is a junior, we can participate in that program called "shared time". We may take half our classes at our school and the other half at a local college where they offer a program for practical nursing. If you do the program for Junior and Senior year, we're permitted to take the state licensing test and I could become an certified nurse by the time I graduate. I live in New Jersey and would prefer a school in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, or Maryland because my family doesn't have enough money for me to travel far or get a dorm. What colleges would be best and would being a licensed nurse increase my chances of getting into medical school? |
