| Gampo AbbeyOn of the least known destinations for many in Nova Scotia is the Buddhist Gampo Abbey Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in Pleasant Bay. It was founded in 1984 by the venerated Tibetan Buddhist Master and writer the Ven. Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. It is a training monastery for monks and lay people. The current abbot is the Ven. Kenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, and he represents the monastic tradition of Shambala Buddhism. The principal teacher is the Ven. Acharya Pema Chodrön, famed writer and teacher. Needless to say, the place is magic and holy. The slogan on the web page reads: "Supporting wakefulness, fearlesness and gentleness." Worth a visit. God bless all! |
