I have always wanted to attend the famous Comic Con International, the largest comic book and popular arts convention in the world. Just waiting for July 23–26 when the popular Preview Night takes place on at the San Diego Convention Center. I am a cartoonist and this event will let me take my art to the next level. I have booked the flight tickets for San Diego and rooms at the California Suites Hotel. I am a good cartoonist but I need to go a long way. Can anybody tell me about their experiences at Comic Con International?

I will not provide much help but I am a lover of cartoons and comedy as a whole. I do think art is a wonderful expression of ability compared to sciences for example. That reminds me of a friend back in school that was a good 'cartoonist.' He presented his work in a very humorous way but would not let anyone pry at him while he did his work. Is it the case that artists are particularly very private or this is just one of those stereotypes?

Comic-Con '09 already took place in the San Diego Convention Center between July 23-26. It all started back in 1970 with a one day mini-con at the U Grant Hotel in downtown San Diego.Over the next 39 years, it has become the country's leading comics and popular arts exhibition and this is attributed to the the first show and its logo which set all the groundwork. Comic Con is a major event for real. I truly wish that I were able to experience it all from a first hand perspective. This is directly the way in which I would like to relate to anything that is of an artistic nature.

They have had a comic convention or two in my country before, but I do not know of much others that are around the area.

Comics are the best outlet for a child to learn how to read sometimes, at least, it used to be.

right now children are learning to read just using the internet alone. It rocks!!

Yeah it is true. With the kids exposure to all of the modern gadgets and the internet, no wonder why it is easy for them to learn through those. Some thinks that it is cool to learn using the net and the computer. But for me, it does not matter anymore as long as the kids are learning. And I have to agree that comics are getting more and more popular. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
