Answers: There is an unusual bright planet/star in the western sky?

Thank author of this post/commentI have read a lot of posts and I am not sure what to think of it all. But, there is a huge bright planet like object in the western sky. I live in Illinois and this is not one of our normal planets or stars. I'm sorry... my dad has been watching this thing for 2 years now and it has gotten 3 times in size since he first noticed it. Not only that but it is in the same spot, but goes from sight fairly fast. I know it's NOT Spica, Venus, or Mars! (They are visible right now at 10:27 whereas this bright planet/star ISN'T!) so I am not interested in any input on that. I do believe it could be Nibiru aka Planet X. Has anyone noticed this thing? I have seen this thing around 8:30ish until 10:30ish. It is always to the right of the three I listed. It is also higher than the three when it reaches it's peak. Let me just put it this way... if you weren't really paying attention to it, it looks like a plane in the sky at night. Note: I am only 30-40 min from Ohare and Midway Airports. And people are noticing it. I have read tons of people asking questions about it but people are just pushing it off as venus, which it's not. It's peak, from my dads questimate, would be about 40 degrees from the horizon. Hope this helps, and if there is anyone in the Chicago area or in this state... YOU CAN'T MISS IT! Just Look to the WEST! NEW UPDATE! I was just outside and you can see it at 8:15 while the sun is still setting. Mind you, you can't see anything else in the sky besides this! It's amazing! That's how bright it is!

Thank author of this post/comment"Bright Mystery Star"

I would also like to know about this bright light in the sky. I thought it was a plane at first too. But after noticing that it did not move I figured it was just maybe a really bright star or a planet. It is in the same exact spot every night. I have not seen it fade or disappear. I have only watched for about an hour at night while sitting on my back deck. I am dying to know what it is.

I am really trying to see it, but I think there are just too many lights where I live, and besides I do not know enough about the night sky to really tell if there is something unusual about a star in it. I would guess, however, that if the "star" is growing slowly, then it is probably a planet which is getting larger as it comes closer to us.
