| Does my insurance cover my rental car?We are traveling to Belize and decided to rent a car while we are there instead of taking a taxi or bus. I am wondering if my U.S. car insurance will cover the rental? |
| Maybe it would be better if you do inquire first about your car insurance concern before heading to Belize. It would be best if the car insurance agency you are applied to are the ones who gve you information. Aside from giving you clarifications they can discuss more stuffs to you with regards to your trip and auto concerns. I searched the net for your question and I found lots of confusing information. |
| I could not agree any lesser with Kira about your said insurance company being the best people to consult over the issue. It seems then that there are those that will be economical with information hence landing you in trouble. By the way, would your VISA not be enough to help you secure a car rental. And if you were to seek a temporary insurance cover? |
| I still stand on my opinion on this matter, you see it seems that you are right that those insurance companies might have to give less information but still there are certain stuffs that they, themselves can clarify. Besides, i would never ever engage into business with an agency that would not offer answers to my questions. Sure, you have to ask questions before venturing into contract right? I think the best people to get inquiry on this matter are the insurance agencies, they are the knowledgeable body in this case. In the first place, you must had cleared things up before engaging or closing an agreement with those insurance companies. Well, best of luck on your queries. |
| All of you guys have over all ideas. Come to think of it, those insurance agencies would simply not give out info than what is allowed and yet they are the right buddy to ask or inquire on. Sometimes things mess and mixed up and so with critical information i think we should ask and search for answers on those who know the real score. Well i just some more posts comes in |

I have to agree that sometimes those in the office may not provide us with the precise answers for they are hiding or masking some glitch, but then, at the end of the day, they are still the appropriate persons, so far to talk to with this questions in mind. | I do not know if a person's car insurance would actually cover their rented vehicle in Belize, but in fact I do believe that car companies with rentals normally need to ensure that their vehicles insurance policies cover any and everyone that is using the car. |
| A person from the rental company is even supposed to show every single driver that enters their vehicle exactly where the vehicle registration is located. This is so that they would have no problem concerning this sort of information, especially if they were to end up in an accident or if they were to have a run in with the police. |

| Those insurance issues are all about making money. Sometimes the more we ask the unclearer the answers seems to be. The best thing to do is to consult this matter to those who really knows the answers, and not to those people who seems to know a lot but actually knows nothing. | That is true smithy. It is sad, but it is how we are living at the moment, and probably in the future. I would also want to see the world in that perspective but I know that there is nothing else that we can do but to just hope, hope that things would turn out right for each and everyone of us.
